Fund Coordination Board meets for the 7th time: Liquidation payments reach 49.7 billion liras

Following the 7th Fund Coordination Board Meeting held under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, current data regarding the liquidation process of investment funds were shared. Representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, and relevant institutions and organizations attended the meeting.

According to the statement made after the meeting, in line with the Capital Markets Board's decision dated October 15, 2026, the liquidation of 18 out of 31 funds within Hedef Portföy Yönetim Şirketi A.Ş., for which liquidation proceedings were initiated, was completed as of October 21. In this context, a total of 8.9 billion liras was paid to 10,008 accounts.

It was stated that liquidation efforts for the remaining 13 funds in the Hedef Portföy group would also be concluded rapidly. It was reported that since the beginning of the process, the number of funds under liquidation has decreased from 131 to 47, and a total of 49.7 billion liras in in-kind and cash liquidation payments have been made to 55,755 accounts.

The statement noted that deliberations on the legislative proposal, which aims to ensure the liquidation process is conducted in a fair, transparent, effective, and legally secure manner, are continuing in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM). It was noted that once the regulation is enacted, interim payment processes for the remaining funds are expected to accelerate.

It was emphasized that efforts to recover exorbitant and unfair gains during the process are being followed by the Ministry of Justice, the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), and the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK). Furthermore, it was stated that liquidation transactions are being carried out with a valuation approach that will not negatively affect stock markets and will reduce investor grievances.

It was also announced that Deputy Minister of Treasury and Finance Kutluhan Taşkın has been appointed to ensure inter-institutional coordination and daily monitoring.
