According to the list shared by Tax Expert Ozan Bingöl on his social media account, the provinces that paid the most tax were, in order, Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli, Izmir, Bursa, Mersin, Antalya, Adana, Hatay, and Tekirdag.
STRIKING STATISTICS OF THE TOP 5
A striking piece of data was also included in the same table. Accordingly, the total taxes paid by the top five—Istanbul, Ankara, Kocaeli, Izmir, and Bursa—accounted for 80.7 percent of the total taxes collected in Turkey.
When the taxes of all provinces in the top 10 were combined, they reached 87.4 percent of the Turkish total.
WHICH PROVINCES FOLLOW?
Looking beyond the top 10, it was observed that other provinces significant in terms of industry were also present.
Accordingly, Gaziantep ranked 11th on the list, Konya 12th, Manisa 13th, and Kayseri was the 14th city.
