Breaking News... The lowest pension amount has been determined: It happened as expected!

The rate of increase for the lowest pension, which concerns more than 4 million retirees in Turkey, has been determined.

According to NTV, the legislative article to be announced by AKP Parliamentary Group Chairman Abdullah Güler states that the lowest pension will be 20 thousand liras.

Thus, the lowest pension will have been increased by 18.47 percent.

For the salary increase, which concerns approximately 4.3 million retirees, the legislative proposal will first be submitted to Parliament. It will be discussed in the committee and then brought to the General Assembly of Parliament to be voted on.

If it passes through Parliament, it will be published in the Official Gazette and officially enter into force with the approval of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

WILL BE VALID STARTING FROM JANUARY

The new lowest pension will be valid starting from January 2026. If the law is not approved in time for the payment period, the difference of 3 thousand 119 liras will be reflected in accounts on the determined date.

AKP Parliamentary Group Chairman Abdullah Güler announced that they have submitted two legislative proposals to the Speaker of Parliament.

Güler stated the following:

"The lowest pension, which is paid as 16 thousand 856 liras, is being increased to 20 thousand TL by being raised by 18.48 percent. As a requirement of the social state principle, the lowest pension has been set at 20 thousand liras starting from the January 2026 period."

With this difference, 69.5 billion TL will be paid from the Treasury.
