Countdown begins for minimum wage hike: Here are the figures on the table

With only a few days left until the new year, the process of determining the minimum wage, which millions of employees and indirectly all citizens are eagerly awaiting, will begin in December.

This process will be shaped by the meetings of the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.

The minimum wage will be determined by a 15-member delegation consisting of representatives from workers, employers, and the government.

The worker side will be represented by the Confederation of Turkish Trade Unions (Türk-İş), and the employer side will be represented by the Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK).

AT WHAT RATE WILL THE BARGAINING BEGIN?

While different scenarios regarding the minimum wage increase are on the agenda, the rate at which the bargaining will begin has also started to become clear.

In line with public expectations, it is anticipated that the bargaining will begin with a demand for an increase of at least 25-35 percent.

MINIMUM WAGE HIKE SCENARIOS

According to the prominent scenarios regarding the minimum wage, the new wages will take shape as follows with increases at different rates:

With a 20 percent raise, the minimum wage will be 20,402 TL.

With a 25 percent raise, the minimum wage will be 21,252 TL.

With a 30 percent raise, the minimum wage will be 22,102 TL.

With a 35 percent raise, the minimum wage will be 22,502 TL.

With a 40 percent raise, the minimum wage will be 23,802 TL.
