Deposit interest rates are falling: Here is the monthly return on 500 thousand, 750 thousand, and 1 million TL

As September approaches, markets are preparing to become active, and investors are focusing on interest rates. Expectations for new interest rate cuts following the 300 basis point reduction in July have led to a decline in deposit returns. As deposit interest rates at banks have fallen to their lowest levels in the last year, investors are asking, "How much is the interest return?"

RETURNS MAY FALL FURTHER BY THE END OF THE YEAR

İş Bankası General Manager Hakan Aran predicted that inflation could be in the "28.5-29.5 percent" band by the end of the year. Stating that the Central Bank could make an 800 basis point interest rate cut for the remainder of the year, Aran expressed that "the policy rate could fall to the 35 percent level by the end of the year." He emphasized that in this scenario, 2026 could be entered with a real interest rate of approximately 6 points.

Aran also drew attention to the increase in reserves and the contraction in the industry, stating that the CBRT could use this space for an interest rate cut.

750 thousand TL: 24,411 TL

1 million TL: 32,548 TL

Accordingly, a person who deposits 750 thousand TL earns approximately 24,411 TL at the end of 32 days. This amount means a monthly income above the current minimum wage.
