Expert reveals! How much will the lowest pension be in 2025?

The inflation rate for November was announced at 2.24 percent. With this rate, the cumulative salary difference that SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees are entitled to since July has reached the 14.57 percent level.

However, since this rate will be reflected in salaries in January 2025, it will become clear once the December inflation data is announced.

HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?

Following these developments, Social Security Expert Özgür Erdursun shared his predictions regarding the lowest pension during a live broadcast, stating the following:

"I have been saying this from day one. They will make the lowest pension 15 thousand TL in the new year. I think they will raise the current lowest pension of 12 thousand 500 TL to 15 thousand TL."

'THEY MAY BE COMBINED AT 17 PERCENT FOR BOTH GROUPS'

Erdursun said, "On January 3, 2025, an inflation difference of around 17 percent will emerge. All television channels and websites will say that the inflation difference for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has been determined. Since a calculation will be made for civil servants and civil servant retirees as an additional difference stemming from the collective bargaining agreement, a 12 percent difference will emerge for them. In the previous increase, civil servants had a higher rate and SSK retirees had a lower one. Now, SSK retirees have a higher rate and civil servants have a lower one. But these can be combined. They could be combined at 17 percent for both groups," he said.

WILL THERE BE A FLAT INCREASE?

Stating that "These are definite figures," Erdursun continued:

"Expectations for a welfare share or a flat increase on top of this are quite high. But in all likelihood, they will not make a flat increase. If they were to make a flat increase, the figure they would need to set is 15 thousand TL. For all retirees. The government will most likely do this.

17 percent is certain, but I think they could add 8 points on top of that and complete it to 25 percent with a welfare share. In this case, they would increase the lowest pension from 12 thousand 500 TL to 15 thousand TL.

Let's say a retiree earning 14 thousand TL would then have a salary of 17 thousand 500 TL. In other words, the difference of one thousand TL may or may not happen."
