Holiday bonus payment schedule announced! Will new retirees also be eligible for the bonus?

The bonuses given to retirees twice a year for Ramadan and Eid al-Adha have been increased. The payment, which was set at 3,000 TL in previous years, has been raised to 4,000 TL with a 33 percent increase.

4,000 TL for Ramadan Bayram

4,000 TL for Eid al-Adha

Thus, a total of 8,000 TL in bonuses will be paid throughout 2024.

WHO WILL RECEIVE THE HOLIDAY BONUS?

The bonus will be paid not only to retirees but also to individuals under different social security coverage. Social Security Consultant Emin Yılmaz, in his statement to milliyet.com.tr, listed the groups that can receive the bonus as follows:

Retirees (SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Emekli Sandığı)

Those receiving old-age pensions

Those receiving duty and disability pensions

Those receiving death benefits (widow and orphan pensions)

Those receiving permanent incapacity income and death income

Relatives of martyrs and veterans

Combat veterans, security guards, champion athletes

Civilian citizens affected by terrorism and their beneficiaries

HOW MUCH BONUS WILL THOSE RECEIVING WIDOW AND ORPHAN PENSIONS GET?

Beneficiaries receiving widow and orphan pensions due to a deceased insured person will receive the holiday bonus according to their share ratio.

Example calculation:

Spouse (receiving widow's pension) → 2,000 TL with a 50% share

Orphan child → 1,000 TL with a 25% share

In this way, beneficiaries will receive the bonus on a pro-rata basis.

WILL THOSE WHO HAVE RECENTLY RETIRED BE ABLE TO RECEIVE THE HOLIDAY BONUS?

For holiday bonus payments, the retirement pension must be officially approved.

Private sector employees (SSK and Bağ-Kur) → They were required to submit their applications by February 28, 2025. Retirement applications in this group will not be able to benefit from the Ramadan Bayram bonus.

Public employees (civil servants and workers) → If they apply by March 15, they will be able to receive the 4,000 TL bonus.

WHEN WILL THE HOLIDAY BONUS PAYMENTS BE MADE?

There are two possibilities for the payments:

1. Being paid together with retirement pensions

2. Being deposited into accounts in the week before the holiday

According to the payment schedule from previous years, the holiday bonuses are expected to be deposited into accounts between March 24-28.
