Minimum wage forecast from SGK expert! How much will the lowest salary be?

Civil servant and retiree salary hikes will be finalized based on the inflation data announced by TUIK.

With the December inflation data to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), the 6-month inflation difference, which is the determining factor for civil servant and retiree raises, will also be clear.

So, how much will the 2025 retiree salary hike be, and what will the percentage be?

Retirees will receive a raise based on the last 6-month inflation rate. In line with inflation expectations, the year-end raise rate is shaping up to be in the 16-18 percent range.

CRITICAL WARNING FROM SOCIAL SECURITY EXPERT

Social security expert Özgür Erdursun issued important warnings to those planning their retirement. Pointing out that the answer to the question "Should I retire in 2024, or should I wait for 2025?" is critical, Erdursun said:

"Tuesday is the last opportunity for retirement. Those who do not make a retirement plan after this date will continue to work while seeing their salaries 30% lower. Also, December 31 is an important date for retirement and debt restructuring transactions."

HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?

Increasing the current lowest pension of 12,500 TL is on the agenda. Stating that this figure could be raised to the 15,000 TL band, Erdursun noted the following:

"Inflation will be announced on Friday. With this inflation data, it will be clear how much of a difference SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Emekli Sandığı retirees and civil servants will receive in 2024. The 2025 retirement salaries will be determined. There will be no change for those whose retirement salaries are 12,500 liras; I express my opinion that a legal regulation will be made and it will be increased to 15,000 liras. We think it will be in the 15,000 TL band at least.

I say that a welfare share will definitely come for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirement salaries, but I do not expect a flat increase. I think it will be completed to 25 percent, and there could be a rate above this. My opinion is that there will be an increase of around 20 percent."
