October construction cost index data released
The construction cost index increased by 1.48 percent on a monthly basis and 37.94 percent on an annual basis in October. The rise in material and labor prices continues to strain the sector's cost structure.
The Turkish Statistical Institute has announced the construction cost index data for October. Accordingly, the index rose by 1.48 percent compared to the previous month and by 37.94 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
LABOR INDEX INCREASED
On a monthly basis, the material index increased by 1.73 percent and the labor index by 0.98 percent. On an annual basis, the material index recorded an increase of 30.67 percent, while the labor index rose by 55.62 percent.
The building construction cost index showed an increase of 1.33 percent on a monthly basis and 39.06 percent on an annual basis.
On a monthly basis, the material index increased by 1.52 percent and the labor index by 0.96 percent. On an annual basis, the material index rose by 32.29 percent and the labor index by 54.69 percent.
The construction cost index for non-building structures recorded an increase of 1.96 percent on a monthly basis and 34.43 percent on an annual basis.
Compared to the previous month, the material index saw an increase of 2.38 percent and the labor index an increase of 1.04 percent.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, an increase of 25.85 percent was recorded in the material index and 59.04 percent in the labor index.
