AA Finance announced the results of its expectation survey conducted with economists ahead of the June inflation data to be released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) on Thursday, July 3. In the survey, in which 24 economists participated, the average inflation expectation for June was 1.53 percent. Expectations ranged between 1.30 percent and 2.00 percent.

The five-month inflation difference announced as of the end of May was determined to be 15.09 percent. With the addition of the estimate for June, the 6-month inflation difference could rise to 16.62 percent.

CRITICAL RAISE PERIOD FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIREES

The inflation difference that will emerge for the January-June period will be directly reflected in the salaries of civil servants and civil servant retirees. Likewise, SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees will also receive an increase at this rate. The raises to be made in July will bring about a significant increase in both civil servant and pension salaries.

HOW MUCH WILL THE LOWEST PENSION BE?

The lowest pension, which is currently 14,469 TL, will rise to 16,873 TL with an increase of approximately 2,400 TL if the inflation predicted in the AA survey is realized. This figure reflects only the increase made based on the inflation difference; a possible flat raise or welfare share has not yet been taken into account.

ANNUAL INFLATION FORECAST DECLINED

According to the survey results, annual inflation is also expected to fall slightly in June. Annual inflation, which was 35.41 percent the previous month, is projected to fall to 35.26 percent with the June data.

On the other hand, the economists' annual inflation forecast for the end of 2025 was updated to 30.41 percent. This rate indicates that a gradual decline in inflation is expected until the end of the year.

RAISE CALCULATION WILL BE CLEAR ON JULY 3

With the June CPI data to be announced by TÜİK, the raise rate for civil servants and retirees will also be finalized. All eyes are now turned to the official inflation data to be announced on Thursday morning, July 3. These data will affect not only salaries but also many economic parameters, especially rent increase rates.
