Retiree holiday bonus payment dates announced: The amount retirees will receive has been clarified

As in every year, there will be no change in the amount of the holiday bonus deposited into the bank accounts where retirees receive their pensions before the Ramadan and Eid al-Adha holidays. AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler spoke as follows regarding expectations for a bonus increase:

'The increases in oil and natural gas prices are well known. We need to pay maximum attention to budget discipline in accordance with our Medium-Term Program (OVP). That is all there is to the situation'

Güler also stated the following in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM): 'The retiree bonus is not included in this proposal of ours. In terms of our budget balances, we have had difficulty generating resources alongside very serious cuts in retiree pension increases within the scope of the medium-term program.

We are transferring nearly 150 billion TL from our budget to the Social Security Institution (SGK) this year for a 4 thousand TL bonus for both the Ramadan Bayram and Eid al-Adha. A special resource needs to be created. Our difficulties are also evident. There are currently many problems in the economic environment stemming from supply chains, as well as oil and natural gas price increases caused by the risk of war in the region.

Therefore, we need to pay close attention to the budget and budget discipline in accordance with the OVP. That is all there is to the situation'

BONUS AMOUNT AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE CLARIFIED

The 4 thousand TL holiday bonus paid to retirees in 2025 will not change in 2026. Retirees will again receive 4 thousand TL per person for the Ramadan Bayram.

This year, the Ramadan Bayram will be celebrated between March 20 and 24. In parallel with the practice in previous years, it is anticipated that the bonuses will be transferred to the bank accounts where retirees receive their pensions approximately one week before the holiday, that is, between March 9 and 15.

It was reiterated that the retiree holiday bonus practice covers all retirees under the scope of SSK, Bağ-Kur, and EYT. Payments are expected to be completed on the relevant dates.
