Retirees who have lost hope in the government have turned to salary promotions offered by banks to ease their cost of living.
According to the report in Korkusuz, as expectations that the state will take steps to increase income for retirees diminish, banks are aiming to fill this gap with promotions.
Banks looking to increase their cash reserves have started to offer more attractive deals to pension holders.
There are significant differences between the banks' promotion offers. Here are the promotion rates banks are giving to retirees:
ING Bank is offering a 25,000 TL promotion to those with a pension above 20,000 liras, subject to additional conditions.
Denizbank, on the other hand, can increase the promotion amount, which starts from 5,000 liras depending on the salary, up to 20,000 TL with additional conditions.
Yapı Kredi is giving a maximum of 20,000 TL in promotions.
Akbank is offering a 17,500 TL promotion, while QNB is offering 16,500 TL.
Public banks, meanwhile, are keeping their promotions at the 12,000 TL level. Retirees are visiting banks one by one, searching for the most suitable offer to ease their budgets.
