Significant increase expected in military and maternity service buybacks in 2025
As the countdown begins for the 2025 minimum wage hike, increase rates are expected to be between 30 and 45 percent. This rise will affect not only salaries but also premium buybacks. Those who wish to take advantage of the 2024 fee rates for military, maternity, and international service buybacks are advised to apply by December 31.
Negotiations for the 2025 minimum wage will begin on December 10. The current gross minimum wage was set at 20 thousand 002 TL, and the net wage at 17 thousand 002 TL.
The new raise rate is estimated to be between 30 and 45 percent.
This increase will significantly affect not only employees' salaries but also premium buybacks. The costs of premium buybacks will increase significantly.
Buybacks made until December 31 will be calculated based on the current 2024 minimum wage.
Currently, the fee for a one-month premium buyback corresponds to 32 percent of the gross minimum wage and is at the level of 6 thousand 400 TL.
For international service buybacks, this rate can go up to 45 percent.
However, with the 2025 raise, this amount will increase significantly.
HOW MUCH WILL 2025 MILITARY AND MATERNITY BUYBACK FEES BE?
According to TGRT, while a 12-month military or maternity buyback is around 76 thousand 807 TL, international service buybacks can reach up to 108 thousand 010 TL.
However, with the minimum wage increase to be implemented in 2025, these amounts could rise to 99 thousand 849 TL - 107 thousand 530 TL and 140 thousand 413 TL - 156 thousand 615 TL, respectively.
LAST DAY IS DECEMBER 31
Those who apply by December 31 can benefit from the buyback advantage at the current fee.
Applications can be made via e-Devlet or at SGK directorates.
You do not need to make a payment immediately during the application; the calculation will be made with the 2024 fee, and the payment can be made within two months.
