Special Communication Tax to be 570 TL starting tomorrow! All phone owners will be affected

According to the communiqué published by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Special Communication Tax (ÖİV) will be applied as 570 TL starting from January 1, 2025.

While no reduction was made to the 43.93 percent revaluation rate determined in November, the new regulation was finalized by being announced in the Official Gazette.

ATTENTION NEW LINE OWNERS

The ÖİV, also known as the 'earthquake tax,' was implemented following the Gölcük Earthquake. The new regulation will apply to all new line owners, regardless of whether they are postpaid or prepaid.

Subscribers will be able to pay this amount in installments of up to 12 months. In this case, those who purchase a new line will have to make an additional payment of 47.5 TL each month.

The increase in the ÖİV will not only affect new line owners but also existing internet users. The ÖİV, which was fixed at 10 percent in 2021, will be calculated over a higher amount with the new hike.
