TÜİK announces March inflation data: What is the rent increase for April?

The change in the CPI in March 2025 was an increase of 2.46 percent compared to the previous month, an increase of 10.06 percent compared to December of the previous year, an increase of 38.10 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, and an increase of 51.26 percent based on twelve-month averages.

HOW MUCH IS THE APRIL RENT INCREASE RATE?

Under normal circumstances, rent increase rates calculated according to CPI data had been capped at 25 percent for the last 2 years following a practice introduced by the government.

As of July 2024, this cap was lifted, and tenants renewing their contracts in April began applying rent hikes based on current CPI data. With TÜİK's March inflation data, the current 12-month CPI figures have been determined.
