According to BRSA data, the per capita amount of non-performing loans is ranked by province as follows:

According to the report by Nefes, the ranking of provinces in terms of per capita credit debt is as follows:

DEBT LEVELS ARE LOW IN EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN PROVINCES

The Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions remained at the lowest levels in terms of credit debt.

Bingöl was the least indebted city with 61 thousand 386 liras per capita, followed by Hakkari, Ağrı, Şırnak, and Muş.

NON-PERFORMING LOANS INCREASED BY 91 PERCENT IN ONE YEAR

According to the BRSA's 9-month report for 2025, banks' non-performing loans rose by 91 percent over the last year.

The amount of non-performing loans, which was 263 billion TL in 2024,

exceeded 502 billion TL in 2025.

The growth rate in total cash loans remained at the 42 percent level.

RECORD INCREASE IN CONSUMER LOANS

Citizens struggling with the cost of living have turned to cash advances and overdraft accounts.

Overdraft accounts increased by 83 percent in one year to reach 660.9 billion TL.

Individual credit card debt exceeded 2.5 trillion TL with a 54 percent increase.

The non-performing ratio in housing loans rose to 58 percent,

while the non-performing ratio in other consumer loans rose to 117 percent.
