In an operation spanning 6 provinces centered in İzmir, 15 out of 22 suspects detained on allegations of stealing doctors' e-signature devices to prescribe drugs subject to green and red prescriptions have been arrested.
The police processing of the 22 suspects detained as part of the investigation coordinated by the Karşıyaka Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has been completed. Of the suspects referred to the courthouse, 15 were arrested, while 7 were released, with 1 subject to judicial control.
Under the coordination of the Karşıyaka Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Financial Crimes Bureau carried out an operation on November 7 against suspects who had stolen e-signature devices from physicians at various hospitals or obtained their passwords to prescribe drugs subject to red and green prescriptions on behalf of others via the 'Reçetem' (My Prescription) system and then put them on the market.
Teams conducting simultaneous raids on identified addresses in İzmir, Istanbul, Manisa, Bursa, Ordu, and Antalya had detained 22 suspects, including 2 pharmacists.
Searches conducted at the addresses resulted in the seizure of numerous prescriptions issued in the names of others, a pump-action shotgun, an automatic pistol with 17 cartridges, digital materials, 6 identity cards belonging to other individuals, and a quantity of synthetic drugs.
