Getir to exit European and US markets: 'Focus will be on Turkey'
Getir has announced that it will exit the European and US markets, which account for 7 percent of its revenue, in order to focus on Turkey.
Getir has made an official statement regarding its international markets.
According to the statement from the company, Getir has decided to exit the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the US. Getir's US subsidiary, FreshDirect, will continue its operations.
The company, which stated that it generates 7 percent of its revenue from the markets it is exiting, announced that it will focus on its main market, Turkey, where it sees the greatest potential for long-term sustainable growth.
In parallel, Getir has secured new financing from Mubadala and G Squared. The company will use this funding to strengthen its competitive position in its Turkish operations.
The company also thanked all its employees in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the US for their diligent and dedicated work to date.
