Hagia Sophia to charge entry fee for foreign tourists
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated, "As of January 15, visits to the Hagia Sophia Mosque will be subject to an entry fee for foreign nationals."
Minister Ersoy made the following statement:
To prevent overlap between Turkish citizens arriving for worship and foreign nationals arriving for tourism, entry procedures for the Hagia Sophia Mosque will be changed starting January 15.
Visitors will be provided with information via a mobile application available in 16 languages.
