The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has published the March results for the Consumer Confidence Index. According to the results, the Confidence Index, which was 79.3 in February, increased by 0.02% in March to reach 79.4.
Former Chief Economist Hakan Kara evaluated the Consumer Confidence Index results on his X account. Kara's post is as follows:
"Entering local elections with consumer confidence below 80 indicates that economic conditions will work against the ruling parties. Of course, the economy does not always determine the outcome."
