Minister Göktaş emphasized that they have diversified services by considering the different needs of children and that growing up in a family environment plays an important role in protecting social values. She stated that they support children alongside their families through the Social and Economic Support (SED) service.
Minister Göktaş stated that they are making intense efforts to ensure that children grow up as educated, healthy, and self-confident individuals, and that they grow up in a safe and loving family environment. In this context, she announced that 1 billion 224 million liras in Social and Economic Support (SED) payments were deposited into accounts in March to provide social support to children, ensure equality of opportunity in education, and increase their access to artistic, cultural, and sporting activities.
WHO CAN RECEIVE SED SUPPORT?
There are certain conditions for benefiting from the Social and Economic Support service:
Children who have been issued a care measure decision and are being cared for in social service institutions, and who can be placed with their families or relatives under appropriate conditions.
Children who would become in need of protection if they did not receive support due to economic deprivation, and who can be cared for by their families or relatives by benefiting from social and economic support without a care measure decision being issued.
Young people who have reached the age limit after a care measure decision was issued and have left social service institutions or foster families, who are continuing their job and vocational training courses or education, or who would fall into a state of need if they did not receive support because they could not find a job.
Those who cannot meet the basic needs of themselves and their family members they are responsible for due to an extraordinary disaster, natural disaster, illness, or accident, as well as children of individuals who have encountered life-threatening health problems or have passed away.
Applications are evaluated within the framework of the Regulation on Social and Economic Support Services, and requests found appropriate are supported.
