Hazelnut prices continue to rise: 'We expect a further increase'

In Ordu, Arslan Soydan, a board member of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Agriculture, made a statement regarding the price of hazelnuts per kilogram trading at 125 Turkish Lira on the free market.
Stating that the price of hazelnuts, which began the season at 65 Turkish Lira, continues to rise, Soydan noted that the price, which was trading at 120 Turkish Lira last week, has increased by another 5 Turkish Lira.
Soydan indicated that the price of 50-yield hazelnuts has risen to 125 Turkish Lira on the free market, adding, "In fact, these are the prices we expected. We anticipate that these figures formed in the free market will increase a bit more in the coming days."
