Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş has resigned from his position as a member of the Akbank board of directors.
There have been changes to the board of directors and the general management at Akbank, which is part of Sabancı Holding.
In a statement made by Akbank to the KAP (Public Disclosure Platform), it was announced that Cenk Kaan Gür has been appointed as general manager, replacing Hakan Binbaşgil.
It was stated that Binbaşgil, who had held the general manager seat at Akbank since 2012, has been appointed as vice chairman of the board of directors and executive board member.
It was also announced that the resignation of Prof. Dr. Özgür Demirtaş, who was an independent member of the board of directors at Akbank, has been accepted. Demirtaş had been a member of the bank's board of directors since 2018.
