With the new regulation in the legislation, serious fines are coming for those who neglect to receive or issue documents such as receipts and invoices during shopping.

According to the law, one may face penalties in the final outcome. If an invoice or other documents are not obtained, a special irregularity fine of 5,000 TL can be issued for a single document. However, this situation will not be subject to a fine according to reports submitted to the administration within five business days from when the document should have been issued.

For sellers, a minimum fine of 10,000 TL is stipulated for documents that are not issued, and the fines will continue to increase as the violations are repeated. In particular, a detection made within the same calendar year will be the reason for the fines to multiply. Increasing fines, such as 10,000 TL for the first instance and 20,000 TL for the second, can reach up to 100,000 TL after subsequent occurrences. If different documents are used instead of these, sellers will face even higher fines.

600,000 TL FINE ON THE 6TH DETECTION

Example: If a grocery store owner issues an invalid document for a 5 TL purchase and this situation is detected for the 6th time during inspections, the fine to be issued will be 600,000 TL.
