Hotel occupancy rates increased in April 2025

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism has released accommodation data for April 2025. The occupancy rate, which was 39.74 percent in the same period last year, was recorded at 41.12 percent this year. This rate represents the highest level in the post-pandemic period and stands out as the highest occupancy rate since November 2024.

The total number of overnight stays in hotels in April increased by 18.34 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 16 million 274 thousand 395. This figure was recorded as the highest number of overnight stays for the month of April since 2017.

The number of visitors to accommodation facilities was announced as 6 million 565 thousand 283 in total, consisting of 3 million 321 thousand 171 foreign and 3 million 244 thousand 112 domestic visitors. The average length of stay for visitors was stated as 2.48 days; this duration was 2.44 days last year.

DECLINE OBSERVED IN THE FIRST FOUR MONTHS OF THE YEAR

In the January-April period of 2025, the total number of people arriving at accommodation facilities was determined to be 21 million 678 thousand 711. Of these visitors, 7 million 751 thousand 237 were foreign tourists, and 10 million 909 thousand 985 were domestic tourists. The number of overnight stays increased compared to the same period last year, rising to 41 million 646 thousand 307. However, the hotel occupancy rate, which was 34.36 percent in the first four months of last year, fell to 33.49 percent this year.
