How did the stock market start the first trading day of the week? (April 1, 2024)

The stock market started the week with an increase.

At the opening, the BIST 100 index gained 92.08 points and 1.01 percent compared to the previous close, rising to 9,234.48 points.

The banking index recorded an increase of 1.72 percent, and the holding index rose by 2.04 percent. Among sector indices, securities investment trusts were the top gainers with 3.62 percent, while mining was the biggest loser with 0.91 percent.

On Friday, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul followed a bullish trend and closed the day with a 0.69 percent gain at 9,142.60 points.

While the holiday atmosphere continues in global markets, eyes this week have turned to a busy data agenda, primarily the employment report to be released in the US.

Analysts noted that from a technical perspective, 9,300 and 9,400 points are in the resistance position for the index contract, while 9,200 and 9,100 stand out as support levels.
