Illegal bus garage in Istanbul
The Laleli international passenger terminal, used by international transport buses, continues to operate despite its lease contract having expired 5 years ago, its license being canceled, and the premises being sealed.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) has announced that the garage in Aksaray, which is owned by the municipality and whose lease contract expired in 2018 and was not renewed, continues to operate illegally despite various obstructions.
Reminding that the entrance and exit roads of the garage, used by international transport buses, were closed by a decision of the UTK (Transportation and Traffic Commission), that the business opening and operating license was canceled, and that the workplace was sealed and banned from operation, the IMM emphasized that the garage continues its activities despite this and that buses continue to enter Aksaray traffic.
In the statement, which noted that the IMM also obtained a decision from UKOME (Transportation Coordination Center) to close the area in question to traffic, it was recorded that the entrance and exit roads of the garage were narrowed for regulatory work and that new negotiations were held with the company owners for the immediate evacuation of the region.
