Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar announced the news that concerns millions of citizens. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar made critical statements regarding new regulations for electricity and natural gas bills.

Speaking on Habertürk TV, Bayraktar stated that existing subsidies will continue as resources allow and that a transition to a different billing model based on income status could be made in the future.

WILL AFFECT 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS

Minister Bayraktar stated that the subsidies provided for electricity and natural gas will evolve into a consumption-based model in the future.

"We want to move to a subsidy model where those who consume a lot of electricity bear the cost," said Bayraktar, noting that efforts are also continuing within the scope of the fight against inflation.

He announced that the 3 percent segment, which is in the high-consumption group, will switch to a cost-based pricing system and that this regulation is planned to be implemented by 2025.

Bayraktar stated that this practice will affect approximately 1 million subscribers.

INTENSE INTEREST IN SAKARYA GAS FIELD

Bayraktar also said that the success achieved in the Sakarya Gas Field has resonated internationally.

Emphasizing that the delivery of gas from the field to the shore was achieved in record time, the Minister announced that partnership requests have been received from international oil and natural gas companies that have taken note of this success.

Bayraktar pointed to Turkey's strategic importance regarding energy resources by saying, "Foreign companies want to become partners in the Sakarya field."
