Increase in CBRT reserves

The gross reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey increased by 1.85 billion dollars in the week of July 11, reaching 166.2 billion dollars.

The net reserves of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) increased by 2 billion 323 million dollars last week. According to the data announced by the CBRT, net reserves, which were 57 billion 468 million dollars the previous week, rose to 59 billion 791 million dollars last week.

In the same period, official reserve assets increased by 1.1 percent to reach 166.2 billion dollars. While foreign currency assets increased by 2.5 percent to 73.8 billion dollars, gold reserves rose by 0.1 percent to 84.7 billion dollars. The IMF reserve position and SDR total decreased by 0.4 percent to 7.7 billion dollars.

Foreign currency liabilities, which affect the short-term foreign currency liquidity of the public sector, decreased by 0.8 percent compared to last week to 121.3 billion dollars. Predetermined foreign currency liabilities decreased by 1.5 percent to 61.8 billion dollars, while contingent foreign currency liabilities decreased by 0.1 percent to 59.5 billion dollars.

Additionally, the Central Bank's foreign currency liabilities arising from total foreign currency swap transactions stood at 19.6 billion dollars.
