The June-dated contract based on the BIST 30 index in the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) started the day with a 0.4 percent decline at 12,029.00 points.
The June-dated index contract in the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) traded at 12,029.00 in the opening session, 0.4 percent below the previous normal session close.
Yesterday, the index contract followed a volatile course and completed the normal session at 12,071.00 points, 0.1 percent above its previous close. The index contract finished the day at 12,040.00 in the evening session, down approximately 0.3 percent.
Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a mixed course as concerns regarding inflation in the US fuel uncertainty about the timing of interest rate cuts by the US Federal Reserve (Fed), noting that eyes are turned to the Fed's Beige Book report today.
Noting that the domestic data agenda is quiet today, while abroad, the preliminary CPI in Germany, the Fed's Beige Book report, and statements from bank officials will be monitored, analysts stated that from a technical perspective, 12,000 and 11,900 points are support levels, while 12,100 and 12,200 levels are resistance positions for the index contract.
