Index contract starts the day flat on VIOP
The June-dated BIST 30 index contract on the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) began the day with a flat trend at 11,600.00 points.
The June-dated index contract on the Borsa Istanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) traded at the 11,600.00 level in the opening session, just above the previous normal session close.
Yesterday, the index contract followed a selling-weighted trend, completing the normal session at 11,596.25 points, 0.5 percent below its previous close. The index contract continued its decline in the evening session, falling to 11,576.50 points.
Global markets are following a positive trend as data released in the US yesterday eased inflation concerns.
According to data released in the US yesterday, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.3 percent on a monthly basis in April, below expectations, while it rose by 3.4 percent on an annual basis, in line with expectations. The CPI had increased by 0.4 percent monthly and 3.5 percent annually in March.
