Index contract starts the day with gains in VIOP

The Borsa Istanbul Derivatives Market (VIOP) December-dated contract based on the BIST 30 index started the day with a 0.4 percent increase at 8,953.25 points.

The February-dated index contract traded at 8,953.25, which is 0.4 percent above the previous normal session close, during the opening session.

Yesterday, the index contract followed a bullish trend and completed the normal session at 8,920.50 points, 2.7 percent above its previous close. The index contract continued its rise in the evening session, increasing by 0.2 percent to 8,941.25 points. This trend was influenced by Bank of America (BofA) announcing that Turkish banks are back on the radar for investors.

Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a positive trend led by the technology sector, despite ongoing uncertainties regarding the future monetary policy steps of the US Federal Reserve (Fed).

On the other hand, at the "Investor Days" meeting to be held by the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) in New York starting on Thursday, January 11, TCMB Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan will meet with over 200 senior representatives from the world's largest investment funds, which have a combined size of 50 trillion dollars.
