Making a statement on his social media account, Minister Şimşek shared a table regarding 12-month annual consumer inflation expectations.
Noting that the inflation expectations of market participants and the real sector have improved, Şimşek said, "The 12-month inflation expectation has declined to 24.6 percent for market participants and to 41.1 percent for the real sector."
Stating that household expectations have increased to a limited extent, Şimşek's statement included the following remarks:
"Although the surveys do not reflect recent developments, we anticipate that the impact of volatility in financial markets on expectations will be short-term and limited. We assess that the steps taken with the strong coordination of all our institutions and the tightening financial conditions will be disinflationary. We will implement our program with determination until we achieve price stability."
