Inflation statement from Mehmet Şimşek: 'We expect it to remain limited'
Making a statement following the March inflation figures announced by TURKSTAT, Minister Mehmet Şimşek said, "We expect the impact of the recent volatility in the markets on inflation to remain limited due to tightening financial conditions."
The Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) announced inflation for March at 2.46 percent. Annual inflation was also announced as 38.10 percent.
Following the inflation data released by TURKSTAT, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek shared a post on his social media account.
Şimşek said, "We expect the impact of the recent volatility in the markets on inflation to remain limited due to tightening financial conditions."
In his post, where he drew attention to the goal of price stability, Minister Şimşek stated, "We will continue to use all our policy tools with strong coordination."
