Investigation launched into Şişecam
The Competition Board has launched an investigation into Şişecam and its subsidiary, Şişecam Çevre Sistemleri, to determine whether they have violated the relevant articles of the Law on the Protection of Competition.
In a statement made to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) this morning, Şişecam recalled that within the scope of a preliminary investigation conducted by the Competition Board in 2021, commitments were submitted by the company and its subsidiary regarding waste glass recycling activities, and that these commitments were made binding by the Board, stating the following:
"As a result of the examination conducted regarding whether the notification obligation arising from the aforementioned commitments has been fulfilled and whether the commitments have been complied with, the Board has decided to initiate an investigation into our company and our subsidiary, Şişecam Çevre Sistemleri A.Ş., pursuant to subparagraph (b) of the fourth paragraph of Article 43 of the Law on the Protection of Competition No. 4054,
which concerns the failure of the relevant undertakings or associations of undertakings to comply with the commitments they have provided."
