Istanbul's March price hike champion has been announced

In Istanbul, the product with the highest price increase in March compared to the previous month was green pepper, while the product with the highest decrease was cucumber. While the prices of 25 products remained unchanged, the prices of 121 products increased.

Istanbul's March price hike champion has been announced

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the products with the highest retail price increases and decreases in the city for March, along with their rates of change.

Accordingly, among the 242 products included in the ITO's Istanbul Wage Earners' Cost of Living Index, the retail prices of 121 products increased, the prices of 25 products decreased, and the prices of 96 products remained unchanged.

In March, green pepper, which is in the fresh and dried vegetables and fruits subgroup, became the product with the highest price increase at 34.34 percent.

Some of the other products that saw price increases were determined as quince with 23.45 percent from the vegetables and fruits subgroup, salt with 20.55 percent from the miscellaneous and prepared foods subgroup, mutton with 16.02 percent, sausage with 14.28 percent, and veal with 13.11 percent from the meat, fish, and poultry subgroup, and whitewashing and painting labor with 13.93 percent from the housing expenditures group.

PRODUCTS WITH THE HIGHEST PRICE DECREASES

In March, cucumber, which is in the vegetables and fruits subgroup, became the product with the highest price decrease at 29.42 percent.

Other products that saw a decrease in price were recorded as zucchini with 24.29 percent, fava beans with 18.97 percent, cauliflower with 10.57 percent, spinach with 8.48 percent, and eggs with 7.18 percent.
