Istanbul's October inflation data released
The inflation rate for October in Istanbul has been announced. According to data released by the ITO, retail prices in Istanbul increased by 3.64 percent monthly and 59.10 percent on an annual basis in October.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced Istanbul's inflation figures.
DECLINE IN ANNUAL INFLATION
Accordingly, annual inflation in consumer prices in Istanbul recorded a decline in October. According to ITO data, the annual increase in retail prices in October reached 72.73 percent. In September, this rate was recorded at 73.18 percent. In October of last year, the annual increase had reached a record level of 108.77 percent.
The Wholesale Price Index, which reflects producer prices, showed an increase of 3.53 percent on a monthly basis. The annual increase in this index was 64.04 percent in October.
CLOTHING EXPENDITURES INCREASED
In October, compared to the previous month, retail prices saw an increase of 15.33 percent in clothing expenditures, 4.58 percent in health and personal care expenditures, 4.28 percent in food expenditures, 4.05 percent in household goods expenditures, 1.82 percent in housing expenditures, and 0.08 percent in other expenditures, while there was a decrease of 1.38 percent in culture, education, and entertainment expenditures and 2.33 percent in transportation and communication expenditures.
In October, wholesale prices recorded an increase of 5.22 percent in the food products group, 4.57 percent in the textiles group, 2.50 percent in the construction materials group, 2.38 percent in the chemical substances group, 1.95 percent in the metals group, 1.73 percent in the unprocessed materials group, and 1.33 percent in the fuel and energy materials group.
