It has been revealed that the Presidency of Religious Affairs' 'Goods and Services Procurement' budget exceeds that of 70 universities

The Presidency of Religious Affairs, for which a budget of 91 billion 824 million 805 thousand TL was proposed for 2024, has surpassed dozens of universities in terms of the appropriation allocated for the “Goods and Services Procurement” item.

Among the universities whose annual budgets remain below the appropriation allocated for the Diyanet's goods and services procurement are several well-established institutions. The increase in the goods and services procurement appropriation proposed for the Presidency of Religious Affairs for 2024 compared to 2023 was calculated at 109 percent.

According to the report by Mustafa Bildircin from BirGün, 2 billion 503 million 261 thousand TL of the 2024 budget for the Presidency of Religious Affairs was allocated to the “Goods and Services Procurement” item. The Presidency's goods and services procurement appropriation in 2023 was 1 billion 194 million 352 thousand TL.

The 2024 budgets of some universities that could not even receive an annual budget equal to the Presidency of Religious Affairs' goods and services procurement appropriation are listed as follows:

Hitit University: 2 billion 126 million TL

Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University: 1 billion 959 million TL

Iskenderun Technical University: 1 billion 288 million TL

Galatasaray University: 1 billion 129 million TL

Turkish-German University: 1 billion 115 million TL
