Arslan Soydan, a Board Member of the Union of Turkish Chambers of Agriculture (TZOB), stated that the price of hazelnuts, which started the season at 65 liras, has risen rapidly.
Noting that the price of hazelnuts reached 100 liras about 2 months ago but then began to decline, Soydan said, "Prices started to rise again after the new year. As of today, greengrocers and merchants are buying hazelnuts for 105 liras per kilogram."
Soydan expressed that they anticipate prices may increase a bit more, and asked those who have hazelnuts in their warehouses to bring only as much product to the market as they need.
