KFC is returning to the Turkish market
Following its withdrawal from Turkey, KFC is preparing to return through a new franchise agreement with HD Holding. The first restaurants are planned to open by the end of 2025.
HD Holding, which has a wide restaurant network in Turkey, has signed a strategic franchise agreement with the world-famous fried chicken brand KFC. This agreement will make a significant contribution to KFC's restructuring process in Turkey. HD Holding is known for its brands such as HD İskender, Pidem, and Makarnam, and operates more than 300 restaurants.
The first of KFC's new restaurants in Turkey are targeted to open towards the end of 2025. This development will enable the brand to make a strong return to the Turkish market.
PAST AGREEMENT ISSUES
Yum! Brands had previously terminated its franchise agreement with İş Gıda A.Ş., the former operator of KFC restaurants in Turkey, due to the company's failure to meet established standards. This cancellation decision directly affected 283 KFC restaurants in Turkey.
Chris Turner, Chief Financial Officer of Yum! Brands, stated that İş Gıda could not comply with the expected high-quality standards, remarking, "We expect our franchise partners to provide the best experience to our customers."
