KKM continues to melt! It has fallen to 4 million TL

Data from the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) for the week of August 14 showed that the increase in loan volume in the sector continues. Total loans increased by approximately 201 billion TL compared to the previous week, reaching 27 trillion 683.3 billion TL.

According to the data, consumer loans rose to 3 trillion 446.5 billion TL, and individual credit cards rose to 3 trillion 430.4 billion TL. While commercial and other loans reached 20 trillion 806.3 billion TL, installment commercial loans amounted to 4 trillion 221 billion TL. Corporate credit cards rose to the level of 1 trillion 62.1 billion TL.

Non-performing loans in the banking sector rose to 833.30 billion TL. Total securities reached 7 trillion 844.2 billion TL, and total deposits reached 31 trillion 810 billion TL.

The decline in Currency-Protected TL Deposit and Participation Accounts (KKM) also continued. The size of KKM decreased by 47 million TL on a weekly basis, falling to 4 million TL.

In the same period, non-cash loans and liabilities rose to 11 trillion 154.9 billion TL. While securities held in banks amounted to 4 trillion 534.2 billion TL, 3 trillion 657.2 billion TL of this consisted of securities held on behalf of domestic residents, and 876.93 billion TL consisted of securities held on behalf of foreign residents.

The sector's on-balance sheet foreign currency position was recorded as minus 2 trillion 777 billion TL, and the off-balance sheet foreign currency position was recorded as 2 trillion 809.8 billion TL. While the net foreign currency general position fell to 32.73 billion TL, the legal equity of the banking sector rose to 5 trillion 935.9 billion TL.
