As disputes between landlords and tenants have increased due to the excessive rise in rents in recent times, a serious reluctance has emerged regarding renting homes to lawyers. Landlords avoid renting to lawyers because they are well-versed in their legal rights. This situation makes it difficult for lawyers to find rental homes and also leads to an increase in lawsuits between tenants and landlords.
The arbitrary and excessive increases in rents over the last 3 years have caused a major rise in the number of lawsuits between tenants and landlords. The frequent emergence of these disputes has also indirectly negatively affected lawyers looking for rental homes.
Experts in the sector state that landlords have recently been hesitant to rent to lawyers in particular. According to experts, the fact that lawyers are well-versed in their legal rights and the steps to be taken is the main reason for this situation.
Speaking to Sabah Newspaper about this situation in the rental housing market, Bora Tren, President of the Real Estate Commission of the Consumer Confederation, said, "Unfortunately, we have been hearing about this attitude towards lawyers very frequently lately. As you know, landlords now act with the mentality of 'keeping the upper hand' by putting forward various conditions such as eviction commitments when renting out a property. Since lawyers have legal knowledge on this subject, a state of hesitation arises," he said.
Explaining the tenant segment that landlords demand the most, Tren said, "The group that landlords most want to rent their properties to is students. Tenants who will stay for 2-3 years and then vacate the house are seen as a more profitable group.

Hakan Akçam, President of the Ankara All Real Estate Agents Professional Chamber, also stated that the tenant segment that landlords least want is lawyers, saying, "Landlords have been avoiding renting homes to lawyers, especially in the recent period.
