Look which product became the price hike champion in Istanbul
In Istanbul, women's coats saw the highest price increase in October at 54.39 percent. Toy prices saw the largest decrease, falling by 15.95 percent.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has shared the retail price movements for the October 2025 period to ensure more transparent monitoring of the markets. According to the statement, out of the 336 basic products included in the index, 227 saw price increases, while 23 saw decreases.
PRICE HIKE CHAMPION: WOMEN'S COATS
Notable increases were observed in clothing products in October.
The highest increase was recorded in women's coats at 54.39 percent.
Other products that saw increases:
- Men's jackets: 51.05%
- Men's boots: 47.64%
- Women's boots: 46.48%
- Men's sweaters: 40.80%
- Women's jackets: 40.02%
- Women's sweaters: 38.36%
- Cucumbers: 31.29%
- Children's jackets: 30.40%
- Shelled hazelnuts: 23.03%
- Charleston peppers: 21.30%
- Men's shoes: 19.70%
- Women's shoes: 19.37%
- Bell peppers: 19.20%
- Fish: 19.08%
- Sivri peppers: 18.15%
PRODUCTS WITH THE LARGEST PRICE DECREASES
The product that experienced the most significant decline in price in October was toys. A 15.95% decrease was observed in toys, which are in the entertainment and culture group.
Other products that saw decreases:
- Green beans: 13.55%
- Mandarins: 12.81%
- Curly lettuce: 10.40%
- Intercity bus tickets: 7.05%
- Spinach: 6.46%
- Paper tableware: 4.41%
- Carrots: 3.82%
- Lemons: 3.72%
- Parsley: 3.23%
- Arugula: 2.86%
- Plums: 1.75%
- Toilet paper: 1.69%
