Major cigarette price hike coming in February
Cigarette users may face price increases of between 5 and 10 liras starting from the beginning of February. Industry representatives state that rising costs and updated tax rates are the primary factors behind this hike.
Erol Dündar, President of the Monopoly Dealers Solidarity Association, drew attention to the upcoming increase in cigarette prices in February through an announcement on social media.
In his statement, Dündar expressed that, in addition to the rise in production and distribution costs, recent adjustments to tax rates are among the main reasons for the expectation of a price hike.
PRICE HIKE OF 5-10 TL ON THE WAY FOR CIGARETTES
In the industry, this increase, referred to as a "transition hike," is expected to be reflected in shelf prices starting in February. According to assessments, consumers will face a price increase of 5 to 10 liras per pack, depending on the brand and variety.
