Tech giant Apple has announced that it will lay off more than 600 employees in California.
US-based technology company Apple has announced that more than 600 employees in California will be laid off. This development is recorded as the first major layoff move the company has carried out since the COVID-19 pandemic. Apple reported on March 28 that 614 employees working in multiple offices in the state of California would be laid off and announced that this action would be effective as of May 27.
As reported by Hürriyet from the Associated Press, the laid-off personnel were from eight different offices in the city of Santa Clara. It was not disclosed which departments or projects the laid-off employees were working in. Apple has approximately 161 thousand full-time employees worldwide.
