Meat prices to rise before Ramadan
Following the stabilization of meat prices for Ramadan, a new price hike on meat will take effect as of February 13. The 15 TL increase in carcass meat prices is expected to reflect as 20-30 liras for the consumer.
Aydın Tüfekçi, President of the Istanbul Butchers Chamber, announced that with the 15 TL hike in carcass meat effective February 13, this increase will be reflected to the consumer as 20-30 liras. It was stated that the increase has created a supply shortage as livestock farmers are not sending their animals for slaughter.
