Stating that he made assessments regarding the global economy, tax policies, and the Stability and Reform Program at the G20 Meeting of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors held in Brazil, Şimşek noted the following:
"During the meetings, a consensus was reached that progressive taxation reduces income and wealth inequality, strengthens fiscal discipline, and supports tax justice and inclusive growth, while a declaration focused on tax cooperation was published for the first time in G20 history. In today's world, where challenges in the global economy persist and low productivity limits global growth, preparation for artificial intelligence and similar technologies is of great importance. With our program, we will strengthen macro stability while making our gains permanent through structural reforms, thereby increasing our growth potential."
