Mehmet Şimşek was spotted eating a kumpir: Massive price hike for kumpir!
A price hike has been applied to the kumpir that Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek ate at a shopping mall in Ankara.
According to data released yesterday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), annual consumer inflation reached 67.07 percent, while food inflation exceeded 71 percent.
According to a report by Cem Yıldırım from Sözcü, the price of a vegetable kumpir at the Panora Shopping Mall in Ankara, where Şimşek was seen eating, was 80 liras.
Since that date, Şimşek has taken many steps to restore price stability, but the rise in kumpir prices has continued unabated.
In the time that has passed, Kumpirevi at the Panora Shopping Mall has increased kumpir prices by 131.2 percent.
Following the hikes, the price of a vegetable kumpir has risen to 185 liras.
