Middle East tension pushes Bitcoin higher

Following the volatility created in financial markets by the war atmosphere in the Middle East, Bitcoin investors are searching for a new balance. The cryptocurrency was trading at around $72,500 at 10:00 AM Singapore local time on Thursday. After experiencing an 8 percent increase in US markets on Wednesday, Bitcoin retreated to a 1.4 percent level the following day due to a partial correction.

Gracie Lin, CEO of OKX SG, evaluated this activity, stating: “With macroeconomic uncertainty and the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, markets are increasingly pricing in expectations for looser financial conditions. When liquidity expectations shift, Bitcoin often reacts disproportionately. This explains the strength we are seeing at current levels.”

Analysts point out that recent developments support the interest in cryptocurrency as an alternative investment vehicle during times of international crisis. The tendency for Bitcoin to be preferred by investors as a safe haven, especially on days when high volatility and fluctuations increase, is influencing the direction of demand in the markets.
