Minimum wage negotiations continue: No figure determined yet

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated in his remarks following the second meeting of the minimum wage determination process that no agreement has been reached on a definitive figure yet. Minister Işıkhan emphasized that the government is determined to protect the purchasing power of minimum wage earners and that they will take the effects of inflation into account in this regard.

Speaking to the press after the meeting, Işıkhan said, "Our goal is not to let our minimum wage employees be crushed by inflation. We are continuing our work in this direction." Stating that the negotiations will continue, the minister expressed that they are making efforts for all parties to meet at a common ground.

The minimum wage negotiations will continue with the participation of worker and employer representatives, and the final decision is expected to be announced in the coming days.
